The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) said on Tuesday that two Chinese nationals have been arrested for their alleged involvement in illegally shipping "tens of millions of dollars" worth of high-performance AI chips to China.
This announcement comes as the Trump administration is also mulling over its approach to AI chip export restrictions.
Intel will remain an anchor investor in the stand-alone company, which produced $5.8 billion in revenue in 2024.
The current version of the Trump administration's "big, beautiful bill" would raise the tax credit for U.S. chipmakers to 35%.
